On a hot, sunny day in August 2023 a group of ten dowsers spent the day at one of Ridings Dowsers favourite destinations, Limetree Farm, near the village of Grewelthorpe, not too far from Ripon. Limetree is privately owned, and we were there by kind permission from the owners.

We began as usual in the roundhouse with a drumming circle and a guided meditation. With its wonderful acoustics and atmospheric surroundings, this was a real treat, especially for those who had not experienced this before. Another new - and fortunately, positive - experience for some was using the compost toilets.

 

Moving on to the (modern) stone circle, members explored the energies of individual stones, how they connected as one, and the spirits of the different animals that are buried there, one under each stone, each animal having died a natural death.

 

I was led away from the stones and taken through the gate that leads down a steep, muddy path to a small glade with a natural spring and a central chestnut tree. I dowsed that one particular spot needed some attention, so I created a mandala from twigs, leaves and tiny green conker shells. I sent love and light to the spot and subsequent dowsing showed the energy to be much improved.

 

In the afternoon the group gathered in the glade, pausing on the path to investigate a “sticky spot” that had been identified previously by map dowsing. We felt that no action was necessary, so we continued down to the glade, where some members allowed their inner child to try out the rope swing, with varying levels of success. 

 

Finishing back in the roundhouse, a demonstration of some of the instruments used in a sound bath completed our very enjoyable and peaceful day together.
